Nate McMillan was fired by the Indiana Pacers after the Miami Heat swept them in the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade expressed his surprise and anger on the decision of the NBA franchise to part ways with the veteran coach.

McMillan led the Pacers to the fourth seed during the 2019-2020 regular season, despite major injuries in key players.

The former Supersonics guard worked in Indiana for four seasons and led the team to the playoffs four times. Indiana went on 3-16 in the playoffs during McMillan’s stint, experiencing four first-round exits in those four years.
