Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the 2019-2020 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Antetokounmpo beat out Rudy Gobert and Anthony Davis to win the award for the first time in his career.

The 25-year-old star anchored a Bucks defense that had the top defensive rating in the league (103.36).

Antetokounmpo is also the favorite to win the MVP Award and if he does, he will become only the third player in NBA history to win both awards in the same season, joining Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon.

He averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in 63 games this season.
