The Golden State Warriors are going to select Anthony Edwards, if they land the top pick in October’s draft, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The “Dubs” seem to believe Anthony Edwards could develop into a valuable piece of their future. That means LaMelo Ball is not their priority and they are not going to select him in order to add him to the team’s roster.

“If the Warriors land the top selection in October’s draft, they’ll likely take Georgia shooting guard Anthony Edwards. Golden State believes, per a league source, that Edwards is one of the few players available in this draft who can contribute immediately and develop into a face of the franchise within the next few seasons,” Letourneau wrote

The Warriors finished the regular season with the worst record in the NBA (15-50), having a 14% shot at the No. 1 pick. With the current record, Golden State is not going to drop further from the 5th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
