The Houston Rockets announced that Russell Westbrook underwent an MRI that revealed a strained right quadriceps.

He will not play in the team’s last “seeding game” against the Philadelphia 76ers on Aug. 14 and will be re-evaluated before the playoffs, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Westbrook may have tweaked his quad in the last game on Aug. 11.

With playoffs starting next week, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Westbrook miss the start of the first round, but it all depends on how his evaluation goes.

The Rockets did get Eric Gordon back today and he will look to help with scoring in the backcourt until Westbrook is cleared to return.
