Caris LeVert scored 34 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 118-110 victory over the Washington Wizards.

The win puts the Nets seven games ahead of the Wizards for the final playoff spot in the East. Washington will have to close that gap to four games to force a play-in series against Brooklyn.

The Nets are depleted but still have three of their core players in LeVert, Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen. All three were excellent today. LeVert had seven rebounds to go with his 34 points. Joe Harris had 27 points and seven rebounds. Jarrett Allen finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds. He made all 10 of his free throw attempts.

Thomas Bryant finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds for the Wizards, but it wasn’t enough.

The game was tied at 100 with 5:26 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Nets ended the game on an 18-10 run.

The Nets next game is against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. It could be a playoff preview, as the teams would meet in the first round if the season ended today.
