Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby was pretty hyped after helping his team overcome the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night and reckons he can be a threat to any team.
The 23-year-old logged 23 points against LeBron James’ Lakers, with the Raptors limiting Anthony Davis to a meager seven attempts in 35 minutes on the floor. Even without Kawhi Leonard, Toronto has continued to dominate under head coach Nick Nurse and they currently own the third-best record in the NBA. James, for one, views the Eastern Conference outfit as a legitimate contender.
Whether or not they surprise everyone and successfully defend their title is something left to be seen. But, a confident OG Anunoby is someone they can certainly use. While the Nigerian’s performance wasn’t in the realms of spectacular, it was still pretty impressive and he waxed lyrical in the wake of the 107-92 win.
“I mean, it helps my confidence knowing I can do it against anyone,” he declared, per The Athletic‘s Blake Murphy. “It’s just about getting the reps and staying with it and just being confident in my moves and being patient.”
The Raptors will play the Miami Heat on Monday afternoon, having failed to beat Erik Spoelstra’s side in their two previous meetings this season.
