Adam Silver reacted to the players of the Utah Jazz and the New Orleans Pelicans kneeling during the national anthem in the NBA restart.

The Commissioner of the league said he respects the players’ decision and the NBA has no intention to punish them.

“I respect our teams’ unified act of peaceful protest for social justice and under these unique circumstances will not enforce our long-standing rule requiring standing during the playing of our national anthem,” Silver said, via Marc Stein of the New York Times.
