Former NBA forward Paul Pierce and Zach Lowe discuss the Los Angeles Lakers looking to replace combo guard Avery Bradley with free-agent shooting guard JR Smith, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018-19 season, after opting out to play in the restart of the 2019-20 NBA season in Orlando, Florida. (3:47) They weigh in on whether it’s fair to criticize players for opting out of the restart of the season:

Last season, Smith was mostly away from the Cavaliers and appeared in only 11 games, averaging 6.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. On 34.2% shooting from the floor, 30.8% from deep.

Meanwhile, Bradley has been a part of the Lakers’ success to date, averaging 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists, through 49 games. On 44.4% shooting from the field, 36.4% from 3-point land.
