The Washington Wizards’ forward Davis Bertans will not participate in the NBA restart according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim Bontemps.

According to the report, Bertans has decided against playing in order to prevent any possible serious injuries, which will jeopardise his chances to sign a multi-year deal in the coming free agency.

The Latvian stretch forward had his most productive season of his career, until the NBA “pause” due to the coronavirus.

Namely, he averaged 15.4 points and 4.5 rebounds on 42.4% from the the three-point line per 29.3 minutes per game.

Bertans sitting is pretentive measure that was decided under the full Washington Wizards’ support, as the NBA sharpshooting forwars had two ACL injuries in the past.
