Kevin Durant’s comment on Instagram, in which he called his former teammate Kendrick Perkins a “sell out”, is the hot topic these days. The comment was posted in response to Perkins, critiquing Kyrie Irving who is advocating for boycotting the season.

In a recent interview with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN, the former NBA champion appeared to be wiping tears while Smith was telling what being called a “sell out” means in the black community.

“A “sell out” is a very disparaging label handed down to a black person who is believed to be operating against the best interests of his own community as a whole,” Smith said admitting he was called that name on multiple occasions.
