As if the New York Knicks fans needed more star players to make fun of what they could have been, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard told Vanity Fair that he thought he was going to the Knicks a few years ago.
“I thought I was heading [to the Knicks] a few years ago,” said Lillard. “I had heard commercial rumors. Garden is my favorite place to play.”
In 2018, Stephen A. Smith stated in his radio show that if Lillard hadn’t stayed with the Blazers, his favorite destinations would be the Knicks or the Lakers.
Lillard is an All-Star selection five times and All-NBA four times. As the Knicks continue their quest for an elusive franchise guard, there are few directors in the game who have occupied a better position than Dame since joining the league in 2012-13.
