Euroleague Basketball on Thursday has approved a change of teams in the 2014-15 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds due to a previously announced participant not meeting the requirements to complete their registration.

Levski Sofia, the current champion of the Bulgarian League has been withdrawn, with the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Bylaws calling for the replacement of the team through a wild card in cases when a team cannot complete its registration.

Keeping in mind the importance of territorial distribution in Euroleague Basketball competitions, the offer of a wild card was extended to VEF Riga, runner-up last season in the Latvian League and previously two time participants in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds. VEF Riga will join the eight-team field for the qualifying rounds.

The draws for both the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season and Qualifying Rounds will be held Thursday, July 10 in Barcelona.
