Kawhi Leonard carried the Raptors to a Game 7 victory at home against the Philadelphia 76ers in their second-round series. He was dominant and scored 41 points despite a sore knee.

The series had been tight throughout with no team ever leading by more than a game.

Like the series, Game 7 was close throughout as well. Leonard was extremely aggressive early on. The game was still close in the fourth quarter but the Raptors led by a point with 10.8 seconds and the Sixers fouled Leonard. He made the first free throw but missed the second and Jimmy Butler tied the game with a layup.

With the score tied and 4.2 seconds remaining, Marc Gasol inbounded the ball to Leonard. He was guarded by Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid came over to help as well. Just before time expired Leonard got a shot off from the corner over Embiid’s outstretched arm. It bounced on the rim a few times before finally going in and sending the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Raptors went on to beat the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors in six games each to win their first championship. Leonard was named Finals MVP.
