NBA Hall of Famer Steve Nash revealed that the legendary Isiah Thomas was his ‘hero’ growing up.
Nash, one of the best players in NBA history, said he modeled his basketball game after Thomas.
“My hero growing up was Isiah Thomas, as far as who I wanted to emulate. He had everything but he wasn’t jumping over people, so I was like, ‘Okay, there’s somebody that I can try to emulate.’ He was quick but other than that, he used his skill level, his creativity, his competitive nature. The fight in him was incredible,” Nash told Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on the All The Smoke podcast.
