Dynamo Moscow have successfully defended their Eurocup Women crown by beating Dynamo Kursk 85-61 on the night and 158-150 on aggregate in the all-Russian finale.

Away from home, the Muscovites won their first leg tie comfortably 97-65 as Tina Charles put on a masterclass for the winners with a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds.

Dynamo Moscow trailed 41-40 in the second quarter and from there it was one- way traffic as the holders outscored Kursk 37-10 to silence the home support and leave the visitors with the task of defending a 32-point lead heading back to the Russian capital.

Kursk had nothing to lose in the second leg, and their cause was not helped when Moscow raced out to a 25-15 lead after the first ten minutes of play. The hosts for the second leg were not just down by double-digits on the night, but down by 42 points overall.

Playing for pride and somewhat in desperation to avoid any further embarrassment, Kursk hit back and eventually took the lead on the night. There was a slight belief from the 2,500 present that their side could do the unthinkable and pull the tie level on aggregate.

They bravely managed to pull it back to single digits, but Dynamo Moscow ended the night celebrating.

Seimone Augustus and Jelena Milovanovic led the winners in the second leg with 18 points each, the former was one rebound shy of a double-double with 9. Tina Charles was once again unstoppable, leading all scorers with 24 points and 8 rebounds.
