Real Madrid became the second Spanish team along with Cajasol to qualify for the NIJT Finals at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Milan after beating Unicaja Malaga 62-56 in Sunday’s final of the Torneig de Básquet Júnior “Ciutat de L’Hospitalet”.

Jonathan Barriero poured in 20 points including the game-deciding three-pointer with nine seconds left to lead Madrid to the victory and an undefeated run. Emanuel Cate added 15 points and 9 rebounds for Real. Fernando Alonso scored 13 points for Malaga, which suffered its first loss of the tournament in the final.

Alonson was named to the All-Tournament Team along with Real’s Jonathan Kasibabu. The other three All-Tournament Team selections were Andreas Obst from Brose Baskets Bamberg, Union Olimpija Ljubljana’s Vasilije Vucetic and Marc Garcia from Barcelona. Garcia was named the MVP of the tournament.

In earlier action Sunday, Union Olimpija beat Fiatc Joventut Badalona 54-40 to take third place, Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul got past Barcelona 71-58 for fifth place and Brose Baskets Bamberg finished seventh after a 75-68 victory over tournament host side CB L’Hospitalet.
