Referee Joey Crawford ejected Tim Duncan because Duncan was laughing on the San Antonio Spurs bench in a game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Duncan rarely loses his composure over calls. He was originally given a technical foul after he was called for an offensive foul. Duncan appeared to be shocked by the call.

A few minutes later he was laughing on the bench when Joey Crawford shockingly dished out a second technical foul and ejected him from the game. The Spurs were leading at the time of the ejection but went on to lose the game.

When asked if he said anything to Crawford, Duncan replied “no.”

After the game, the NBA suspended Crawford for improper conduct.

Duncan got the last laugh though, as he led the Spurs to a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals two months later.
