Doc Rivers talked about his first reactions upon learning that Lou Williams had joined the Los Angeles Clippers in the summer of 2017.
Rivers was not initially excited about the arrival of the versatile guard, as Williams had been part of four teams in the last five seasons and the Clippers would be his fifth in six years.
“When we traded for Lou (Williams), I was not having Lou. I saw it obviously from afar, the obvious. I saw a guy that kept getting traded, right. I appreciate his offense, but I never thought he was this good,” the head coach of the Clippers told Jeff Goodman of Stadium and Bob Ryan of The Boston Globe in a recent podcast.
Williams is now considered one of the leaders of the Clippers.
