CSU Asesoft Ploiești are the Romanian champions for the 9th time in history. They wrapped up the series against BC Mureș with the score of 4-2 in the best of seven series.

Alhaji Mohammed (younger brother of Nazr Mohammed from Chicago Bulls) scored 38 points în Game 6, played in Brazi. He was the best player of a game finished with the score of 83-76. Vaidotas Peciukas replied with 23 point for Mureș.

Interestingly, the defense of CSU Ploiești, or maybe the offense of BC Mureș, where the deciding factors in the finals. When BC Mures scored over 80 points during this serie they won. They only did that two times during the final series.

BC Mures, the team that finished the regular season in the first place, won the first game of the finals with the score of 91-81. CSU Ploiești won Game 2 of the finals. The score was 83-78. Both games were played in Targu-Mures.

In Game 3, Mures connected 13 times from long range for 54% on three point shooting. They won in Brazi with the score of 90-63.

Games 4 and 5 were decided in favour of CSU Ploiești, 89-79 and 85-79 respectively. Game 4 was played in Brazi while the next one in Targu-Mures.

Overall, Vladimir Tica was the best player for CSU Ploiești in the finals. On the other hand Vaidotas Peciukas contributed the most in a losing effort for BC Mureș.

This is the 9th Romanian championship won by Asesoft in its history. The first was taken in 2004. During the last 10 championships, only once, in 2011, Romania had another champion.

BC Mureș played its first championship final. They also won the regular season for the first time.

CSM Oradea completed the podium. They beat Gaz Metan Medias, 2-1, to get its best finish in history.
