Stephen Curry is believed to have been the first NBA player that was tested for the coronavirus, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Earlier this month (March 7), the Warriors announced Curry tested positive for influenza-A, but didn’t have COVID-19.

“Stephen Curry is believed to have been the first player to have taken a test for the virus. On March 7, the Golden State Warriors said he’d tested positive for influenza-A and didn’t have COVID-19. The Warriors declined to officially say if Curry was tested, but coach Steve Kerr told reporters he believed Curry had been,” Shelburne reports.

The head coach of the Warriors, Steve Kerr, said the team was concerned Curry had contracted the coronavirus.

The NBA decided to suspend the season for at least 30 days, due to the coronavirus crisis.
