NBA teams are expecting the remainder of the G League’s 2019/20 season to be canceled amid the current coronavirus pandemic, report ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews.

Wojnarowski marked calendar issues as one of the things potentially making the continuation of the term difficult, also citing the fact that G League teams fly commercially, which is said to be “money-draining” for NBA teams.

The G League season was suspended on Thursday, following the NBA’s decision to put its campaign on pause on Wednesday night.

The league’s regular season was scheduled to end on March 28 and the postseason was set to run through April. But, with the CDC recommending that organizers of events in the US accommodating 50 or more people cancel such events, play might not resume for the NBA’s developmental tier.

Woj adds G League players will be paid through to the end of the regular season schedule.
