Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has said he doesn’t expect the NBA season to be canceled following the announcement regarding its suspension on Wednesday night.

The league suspended operations indefinitely after it was confirmed that Utah Jazz star center Rudy Gobert had tested positive for COVID-19.

Cuban, who previously disclosed that the NBA had permitted teams to continue practices, told ESPN’s Get Up the suspension isn’t expected to lead to a cancelation, while he sees games leaking into August.

This is a rather unfortunate situation, not just for the NBA, but for everyone affected by the viral outbreak. Where league affairs are concerned, officials are still working to determine the way forward.
