Danny Ainge, GM and president of basketball operations of the Boston Celtics, admitted he wanted to make some moves at the trade deadline.

Ainge revealed that the players he desired were still wanted by the other team, so he had to get a home run of a trade in order to sign them.

“There were some trades that I would have liked to have done. But they were good players and the teams that would be giving them up didn’t want to give them up, so they needed to get a home run of a trade in order to do it.

And that’s typically what happens when you’re trying to get players that the other team still wants,” the boss of the Celtics said in an interview with Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

Boston is third in the Eastern Conference with a 42-19 record.
