The former NBA star signed with Maccabi Haifa for two exhibition games which are to take place in USA.

According to www.jta.org (The Global News Service of Jewish People) the former NBA Most Valuable Player Allen Iverson will play for the Israeli team Maccabi Haifa in its two exhibition games against NBA teams that will take place later this month.

Iverson whose last stint was with Turkish team Besiktas in Eurocup, decided to accept a proposal from Haifa’s head coach Brad Greenberg, an American that was part of Philadelphia 76’ers staff when Iverson was the star of the team.

The Israeli team will face Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves in this trip to USA, and if everything works out Iverson would sign a longer term with the team after declaring bankruptcy last year and not playing for the entire season.

The two sides could decide to prolong their agreement even further if this “experiment” works out.
