Los Angeles Lakers big man and former slam dunk champion Dwight Howard will participate in this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend in Chicago.
Howard is the first confirmed participant in the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
This will be Howard’s fourth time participating in a dunk contest, as he finished third in 2007, first in 2008 and second in 2009.
Memphis Grizzlies standout rookie Ja Morant also has an invitation to the dunk contest, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, but he is still thinking it over.
“It’s something I’m thinking about,” Morant told Yahoo Sports. “I haven’t made a decision yet.”
Morant has showed incredible athleticism this season, nearly pulling off a dunk where he jumped over Kevin Love.
