Facing your former team does not always mean warm welcome. Kawhi Leonard was booed by the Spurs fans on his return to San Antonio.
Though Leonard kept his cool. He didn’t make any verbal response to the fans, neither did he make any gestures.
Instead he dropped 26 points helping the Clippers cruise past the Spurs 134-109.
Kawhi described the boos as “love”, per Mark Medina of USA Today:
“The boos is just love,” Leonard said. “Just taking it as that, I’m here for a reason, to win a ball game. It only can make me better and make our team better with the crowd not being on our side.”
