Michigan State’s Athletic Director, Mark Hollis’ latest set of ideas, after having a college basketball game played on the deck of an aircraft carrier last month, includes having a game between the Michigan State Spartans and the USC Trojans played in Kallimarmaro Stadium, Athens.

Kallimarmaro Stadium, originally built over 2500 years ago, was the set of the first modern Olympics in 1896 and it is entirely built of marble. It’s current capacity is 45.000 people reduced from the initial 80.000.

In 1968, AEK beat Slavia Prague in the final of the Cup Winners Cup by 89-82 in front of 120.000 spectators, 80.000 on the stands and 40.000 outside the stadium, which was, up until 2010 and the NBA All Star Game, the World Record in basketball attendance.
