Strasbourg officially announced the signing of Alexis Ajinca until the end of the season.
The 23-year old French center didn’t manage to find a contract in the NBA and decided to return to France. Ajinca also played a couple of games for Hyeres-Toulon earlier this season during the lockout averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds and an index rating of 29.
“I am delighted by this signing. Alexis is a tall player with a large-scale,” Strasbourg coach Vincent Collet said.
“These are rare qualities for a player profile. It should be remembered that Alexis left very early for the NBA. He lacked the physical density when he left the French league 3 years ago.
“While maintaining his qualities, he had to use his time in NBA to develop physically. We were able to measure his impact on the game in the two games he played with Hyeres-Toulon early in the season. I will use the position four and position five.”
