Ten-time NBA All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony, who signed a non-guaranteed one-year, $2.15 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, talked about his return to the league:

“I was ready to walk away. It’s hard, waking up every morning, not knowing what to expect, not knowing what to work on … wanting to give up hope, wanting to give up faith and belief,” Melo said.

Through six games this season, Anthony, who was named Western Conference Player of the Week, has been averaging 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.7 steals per game, while shooting at 46.2% from the field.
