Barcelona is interested in making an offer to Pau Gasol, according to the Catalan website ESports.
Gasol, who now is a free agent, is still recovering from a left foot injury, however he has no plans to retire yet.
He wants to play in the 2020 Olympic Games, therefore the Catalans want to offer him the chance to play until the end of the season.
The two-time NBA champion with the LA Lakers (2009, 2010) played for the “Blaugrana” for three seasons early in his career (1998-2001).
Prior to Friday’s (22/11) game against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Barcelona head coach Svetislav Pesic addressed the reports regarding the Spanish center.
“The Pau Gasol comments remind me of when I was coaching Bayern. There was a time when the first question was always about Dirk Nowitzki’s return. And Dirk retired and never came,” Pesic said.
