Marco Belinelli and Italy won 94-89 after overtime against Puerto Rico in the match of Group J in the World Cup.
Serbia and Spain qualified two days ago for the Quarterfinals from Group J. So, the game between Italy and Venezuela was played for the third place in the group and a better position from 9th until 16th place in the World Cup.
The European club celebrated mostly thanks to the excellent performances of Marco Belinelli and Danilo Gallinari.
The San Antonio Spurs player scored 27 points with 6 rebounds for the index rating of 23, while the power forward/small forward of the Oklahoma City Thunder finished the match with 22 points, 6 rebound and 5 assists (index rating of 22).
Renaldo Balkman and Angel Rodriguez were the top performers for Puerto Rico. Both players had index ratings of 14. Balkman ended the match with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Rodriguez scored 13, same as their teammate Gary Browne.
Next, Italy and Puerto Rico will see on which places they will finish their participation in the World Cup, while Serbia and Spain will fight today for the first place in Group J.
