ImageLast day of the Acropolis tournament in Athens yesterday with hosts Greece finishing with three wins in three games after beating Lithuania with 75-73. Serbia finished second as they beat Russia 70-59.

Serbia had a healthy walk in the park yesterday against European Champions Russia who "managed" to score only 4 points in the third quarter. Russia stayed without a single field goal throughout the entire third quarter and two minutes into the fourth and of course Serbia took advantage of that, leading with as much as 29 points (65-36) before relaxing and allowing the Russians to finish the game with a decent margin.

Greece prevailed over Lithuania in the end with 75-73 capturing the first spot of the tournament. Lithuania finished the third quarter with a nine-point lead (50-59), but the Greeks answered with a 13-3 run to regain the lead which they kept till the end. Sofoklis Schortsanitis, one of the best players in Greece's preparation, suffered a sprained ankle the severity of which is to be determined today.
