The hottest name in the NBA at the moment, this year’s number one draft pick Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans took to Instagram to announce he’s joining the Jordan Brand.

According to the Forbes’ source, the deal which was signed between Zion and Jordan Brand is for 7 years, worth $75 million.

Jordan Brand has already contracted some of the brightest NBA stars such as Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and Jimmy Butler.

“I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,” Williamson said in a statement via ESPN. “Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to.”

“I would’ve guaranteed it [$100 million] if he would’ve been in New York or Los Angeles,” he said. “There is a difference in cities, there’s no question about that.”

On behalf of the Jordan Brand, Michael Jordan said: “Zion’s incredible determination, character and play are inspiring. He’s an essential part of the new talent that will help lead the brand into the future. He told us he would ‘shock the world,’ and asked us to believe him. We do.”

Williamson famously suffered an injury in February while wearing Nike shoes and missed the remainder of the NCAA regular season.
