ImageBogdan Tanjevic, Head Coach of Turkey in the recent Eurobasket, talked about how FIBA should change some things in the organisational system of major basketball events like the World and European Championships.

"Since three years I am trying to convince them that the coaches of the National Teams should have 14 players in their disposal, in order to raise performances, show and avoid injuries. FIBA is very conservative in some matters." said Tanjevic who then went on to compaire a basketball and football tournaments.

"In football, the tournament lasts one month and they can change between 24 players, while we have to play 9 games in 14 days and don't have the right to change. Take for example the last Eurobasket: Greece played against Turkey with two days of rest after having played against France in a game that was no more than a friendly as both teams wanted to avoid Spain in the quarterfinals. They came up in the game against us very relaxed while we were in a different situation." added Tanjevic to conclude "There are things that have to change."
