Beijing Olympics 2008Three teams remain unbeaten after a day 3 in Beijing Olympic Games. World Champions, Spain opened the day with a 72:59 (12:15, 27:21, 20:12, 13:11) win against Germany. Jose Manuel Calderon was the top scorer for the Spanish with 15 points in 22 minutes. Dirk Nowitzki had only 11 for Germany.

Australia bounced back after two losses in a row. Aussies thrashed Asian champions Iran to grab their first win so far and keeping a hope of reaching the quarter-finals alive. Five players finished the game in double figures as Australia took the win 106:68 (28:15, 25:14, 22:19, 31:20).

The hosts of the Olympic Games nearly managed to pull the biggest upset against World Champs on day 2. Today they didn't leave much chances for the African champions, Angola who are the second winless team besides Iran. Angola lost 68:85 (15:28, 27:16, 9:21, 17:20). Ming Yao was the top scorer with 30 points.

Third game for Lithuania and a second thriller already. Baltic giants faced another champions, this time it was European champions Russia. It was a close game and everytime Lithuania got the lead Russians tied the score quickly. John Robert Holden had 25 points and 5 assists for Russia but that wasn't enough as Lithuania won the game 86:79 (23:24, 21:17, 25:21, 17:17).

In what was expected to be the game of the day USA met Greece. Last time the two teams faced each other was World Championship semi-final when the Greeks celebrated the win. NBA stars made a run in the 2nd quarter which decided the winner as Greece couldn't respond with the same run. A comfortable win for USA 92:69 (20:16, 31:16, 23:22, 18:15).

The final game of the day featured previously unbeaten Croatia and Olympic Champions Argentina. Croats didn't look themselves from the start of the game with a poor 3-point shooting. They also couldn't break Argentina's defense. Croatia had only 38 points at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Defending champions are back on track with a confident win 77:53 (21:13, 19:9, 19:16, 18:15).
