Vlade Divac is first Serbian player whose uniform will be retired from an NBA team. Sacramento Kings will say hello to number 21 on March 31 when they will play in Arco Arena with New Orleans.
As a one of the most versatile centers in the NBA he was giving important supstance to the chemistry of unforgettable Kings show time and legendary playoff series with Los Angeles Lakers during the six seasons (1999-2004).
Kings fans will never forget the last seconds of fourth match in Western Finals series in season 2001/2002 against Los Angeles Lakers, when the ball after Vlade’s rebound came to Robert Horry’s hands and three pointer shoot passed through the net at the buzzer. Lakers tied at 2:2 though Kings had advantage of 24 points at 50:26.
Vlade had played 1134 matches in his NBA career, spent 33824 minutes, scored 13398 points (100 three points) average 11.8, made 9326 rebounds, 3541 assists, 1288 stolen balls, 2470 turnovers and 1631 blocks.
