Vine MacaulayMarshall MK Lions Coach, Vince Macaulay, said he is looking for an improved performance tomorrow compared to the last time his side meet Everton Tigers: 'I think we match up well with Everton, we are on of a few teams that can match their size' he said: 'Coach Garbelotto has done well in putting this team together and with the addition of Trey Moore, they will be looking to mount a challenge' he added: 'At our last visit to Everton, we lost focus in the third quarter, but we are maturing well as a team now and I'm excited ahead of Friday.'

Garbelotto matched Macaulay's sentiments, as he said: 'In the first game we matched up pretty well with MK, but that was before our injuries and now our subsequent change of players. It is tough to say how we will match up with them, they are one of the top teams in the league, and we must be ready to produce a performance like the last game we played against them.'

Elsewhere in the league, Airwaves Plymouth Raiders face a trying double-header today and tomorrow, as they visit Newcastle Eagles tonight, followed by Sheffield Sharks tomorrow. Coach Stronach, who still has his sights on making the playoffs this term, said the following on the proposition of back-to-back fixtures against the league's top two sides: 'Both Sheffield and Newcastle are tough teams to match up against as they can hurt you from inside and out. It looks like Matt Hilleary will be out, but over recent weeks, I really feel that we have improved our defence and all I will say about our weaknesses is that we are working on them.'

Meanwhile, the player-coaches of both the Sharks and the Eagles, warned that if their players switch off against Plymouth, they could be in for a defeat. Atiba Lyons, of the Sharks, said: 'This weekend is going to be a very tough one for us. Since the addition of Andrew Lasker to the Raiders line up, they have become a very tough team. They seem to have more of a scoring punch and play better team basketball.'

Eagles boss Fab Flournoy, also identified Lasker as the key man for the Raiders, even though the American was not back in the South West when the Raiders beat his side earlier this season: 'This is the third game in the series between us and Plymouth; we had a tough game before Christmas against them and lost early doors. Now we have lost the series against Worthing, we need to focus on this game, and them (the Raiders) having Lasker back gives them a big lift. We need to make sure we adjust for that change.'
