The Kings and the team’s GM, Vlade Divac, decided to part ways with head coach Dave Joerger on Thursday (11/04).
At the same time, Messina and former New Orleans Pelicans head coach Monty Williams are the favourites to replace him.
Messina has been an assistant coach in the San Antonio Spurs since 2014.
