BBL ChampionshipBBL action is at its height this weekend. The Worcester Wolves play Sheffield Sharks on Saturday evening, and head coach Chuck Evans is upbeat for this weekend's games, as he takes the positives out of last week's loss to Marshall MK Lions. He said: 'We have worked on some obvious weaknesses from the game. Our rebounding and free throw shooting needs to improve and we must limit our turnovers. I applaud my players' effort though, and hope we are ready to show everyone our quality this weekend.'

Another positive thinker is Everton Tigers coach Tony Garbelotto, who despite having trouble getting some of his import players into the UK, is satisfied with his recruitment this off-season. He admits, however, that there may be an adjustment period for some of his new signings: 'We have recruited high level players who all have professional basketball experience. Saying this, we may be the youngest team in the league this season, so of course the players will take time to understand the league and of course what we as a team are trying to achieve.' His side play the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders on Saturday, as the East Midlands outfit look to avenge the 81-65 semi final loss at the hands of the Tigers at the NIA back in May.

The Worthing Thunder march on from their 20 point win over the Plymouth Raiders last weekend, to take on a feisty Glasgow Rocks side, and Rocks player- coach Sterling Davis has them primed for Worthing's three point threat: 'Its hard to limit threats with them, but from what I understand they have quite a few guys who can knock down the outside shot, so we have to be ready to defend that.'

Sunday sees the Worcester Wolves and the Essex Pirates take to the court for the second time in two days, as the Wolves meet the Cheshire Jets and it's the Pirates turn to take on Guildford. Jets head coach Paul Smith expressed this week, his disappointment at the injury to BBL veteran Calvin Davis: 'It's a big loss for us' he said 'He was looking back to his best and it's very tough on him, having not long recovered from a back injury.'

On another note, Pirates head coach Tim Lewis hails the Heat roster's BBL experience as their main asset. He commented: 'In Mike Martin and Julius Joseph, the Heat have a wealth experience and are always a tough order to match up against. They have experience in the BBL, which of course is something that we don't have.'
