Virtus Bologna defeated Olimpia Milano (84 – 86) and advanced to the semi-finals of the Italian Cup for the first time since 2010.

Virtus were in front by eight, with 15 seconds remaining (78-86), yet Curtis Jerrells led Milano to an 0-6 run to cut the deficit to two (84-86).

Then, Jeff Brooks stole the ball and made the two-pointer, yet he didn’t beat the buzzer and the basket didn’t count. Consequently, Virtus earned the victory.

Amath M’Baye posted 14 points and six rebounds for the winners, with Pietro Aradori adding 15. On the other hand, James Nunnally and Vladimir Micov had 19 and 17 points, respectively, for the losing squad.

Bologna will face Vanoli Cremona for a place in the Final, with the latter beating Varese in the quarter-final (82-73).
