Leicester RidersJelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders centre Barry Lamble will be back for a fourth consecutive season after agreeing terms on a new contract.

The 6'10" centre from Taunton impressed head coach Rob Paternostro from day one last season with his commitment to the club.

"Last summer when I got the job I went up to watch some of the guys work out and I was immediately impressed at how hard Barry had worked coming into the season. He deserves a lot of credit, because I thought he was in the best shape of his career last year.

"He played very well last season and gave us some really good minutes, both as a starter and as a back- up. When we had some injuries, there were times where he really stepped up. We like having Barry around and we are looking forward to what he can bring us this year."

Lamble posted six points and four rebounds per game last term for the Riders as they claimed their highest league finish in the club's 42-year history.

It was probably the Englishman's best season in the BBL, especially offensively where his mid-range jump shot proved a useful weapon for the Riders.

"He's certainly capable of scoring baskets. There were some times during the year when we had some lulls and he stepped up and he had a lot of confidence. Once he started playing with that kind of confidence he was a very effective player."

Paternostro is still in discussions with several of last season's squad as he looks to build on his first campaign as the Riders' play-caller.
