One of the most exciting European prospects, Ukrainian national Sergey Gladyr will probably continue his career in Spain. At the moment the team most interested in him and closest to getting his signature is DKV Joventut, although the player is wanted by a number of top European clubs.
More spesifically the teams that have so far shown interest in Gladyr are Barcelona, CSKA Moscow, Montepaschi Siena, a local champion team of Adriatic League and some other non-Euroleague clubs. But the talks with those teams froze due to the fact that the player wants a 2-year contract as he plans to leave to NBA by that time, while the teams, except Joventut, see him as a long term investment.
Gladyr who is a 19 year old, 196cm shooting guard averaged 19.5 ppg, 3 rpg, 2 spg, 1 bpg in Eurochallenge and in the Ukrainia League he had 15.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.5 spg in 29 appearances for MBC Mikolaiv.
He was drafted some weeks ago by the Atlanta Hawks at #49.
