The management of Koln 99ers informed the German Basketball Federation that the club filed a bankrupcy report to the Cologne Court.
The clubs management decided that the 1.2 million euro budget would not be enough to take part in next year's edition of the Bundesliga and withdrew their funding commitments.
BBL CEO Jan Pommer is going to get in contact with the lawyer handling the bankrupcy report and after all information on the situation is available the final decision will be made whether Koln will be allowed to participate in the BBL next season or not.
In case the decision is against the 99ers, Eisbaren Bremerhaven will be taking the spot in the first League.
