Banvit and Virtus Bologna secured their spots in the knockout stage of the BCL, after defeating Nizhny Novgorod and Bayreuth, respectively.

The Turks endured the Russians’ come-back from an 11-point deficit in the third quarter (52-63) and earned a crucial win on the road to advance to the playoffs (72-75).

Gary Neal and McKenzie Moore led the winners with 21 and 18 points, respectively.

Kendrick Perry and Ian Strebkov had 15 and 14 points, respectively, for the losing squad.

Banvit improved to 7-4, whereas Nizhny Novgorod dropped to 5-6.

For their part, Virtus Bologna took a double-digit lead in the first half (36-48) and cruised to an easy victory over Bayreuth on the road (83-93) to advance to the knockout stage.

Kevin Punter (22 points), Tony Taylor (17 points) and Amath M’Baye (15 points) were the best players of the winners.

Five players scored in double figures for the losing squad, as Adonis Thomas posted a team-high 17 points.

Virtus Bologna improved to 9-2, whereas Bayreuth dropped to 4-7.
