Italian Playoffs: Semifinals Game 2

MontepaschiIt was a happy Saturday night for Montepaschi Siena. Simone Pianigiani's team won the 5th playoff game in row at Dutch Forum in Milan in front of 8000 attendence.

A balanced game in first two quarters, ended 41-42 for MpS. The break in the third quarter, when MpS close the door in defense and scored 4/6 in 3points. The parzial that it derives in 9-21 on game is virtually closed at 30° minute. On last quarter Siena extended its advantage to 20 points, 69-82 the final score.

Bootsy Thornton (20pts) & Ksistof Lavrinovic (18pts,4/5 3pt%) co-MVP, Gallinari (18pts) and Casey Shaw (12pts, 6/7 2pt%). Good things to Siena from Rimantas Kaukenas who finished in double figures, 11pts, with 5 fouls received. Tomorrow's game 3 at Siena.

Tonight Rome goes to Avellino for the Game 2.  In Game 1, 48 hours ago, a great David Hawkins (23pts) was supported by Erazem Lorbek (20pts). Lottomatica leads against a gruffy Air Avellino that have a good Devin Smith (24pts) but nothing from the other teammates that finished with 24 turnovers against only 6 steals. Rome won the Game 1 68-63.
