Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo underwent surgery on Thursday to repair the fractured third metacarpal in his right hand.

Rondo suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s 126-117 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Rondo is expected to miss four to five weeks and will return to action in late 2018.

The experienced point guard has averaged 8.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals so far in the season.
