Panathinaikos edged Promitheas, qualified to the Greek Cup semifinals

Panathinaikos defeated Promitheas Patras on the road (68-76) and secured their place in the semifinals of the Greek Cup.

Nick Calathes led the winners with 15 points and five assists, with DeShaun Thomas adding 12. On the other hand, Terell Parks posted 14 points, along with 11 rebounds, for the losing squad, with Michalis Tsairelis contributing 13.

The “Greens” played consistently in the first half and were in front by seven at halftime (39-46). Later, the visitors extended their lead to 11 points (50-61) and never looked back.

For their part, the hosts remained competitive for the whole game, yet they failed to beat their opponents and, consequently, they were eliminated.

Olympiacos, PAOK, Kymi and Panathinaikos are the four teams that advanced to the semifinals of the Greek Cup.
