Facundo Campazzo was unstoppable (26 points, eight assists) and helped Argentina defeat Mexico (74-78) in the second round of the FIBA WC Qualifiers.

Real Madrid’s point guard scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and led his team to a crucial victory on the road. Argentina remained on top of Group E (6-1), whereas Mexico should immediately recover (3-4 record), if they want to remain alive in the qualification race.

Luca Vildoza contributed 10 points for the winners, with team captain, Luis Scola, adding eight points and nine rebounds. On the other hand, Gustavo Ayón scored 18 points and grabbed 12 boards for the hosts, with Orlando Méndez adding 15 points.

Argentina welcome Puerto Rico in Formosa on Monday (September 17), while the Mexicans will travel to Montevideo to face Uruguay.
