The Italian champions have announced the signing of Nigerian, 1983 born, center Deji Akindele.

The nigerian big man signed a contract till the end of current season. He grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and then moved to the USA where he played college basketball for Chicago and later on he moved to D-League to player for Fort Worth Flyers.

He started his professional career in Europe in 2006/07 season playing for Calpe Aguas in Spain (2nd division). Later on he moved to Pau Orthez and then to Scavolini Pesaro. Last season’s start found him as a player of Obradoiro in ACB but he later on moved to Rouen.  

The international Nigerian center, standing at 214cm, started the current season with Nizhniy Novgorod in Russia, but Montepaschi was too good to turn down.
