EuroLeague Basketball have announced that they will discuss the issue of Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos on April 12 amid recent issues.

Giannakopoulos was originally banned from appearing in all EuroLeague arenas for five months after he made comments on social media following Panathinaikos’ loss away to Fenerbahce.

However, the outspoken owner breached his ban and was present for Panathinaikos’ home game against Olympiacos. As a result, Giannakopoulos was fined €60,000 by EuroLeague.

Giannakopoulos was not finished in his crusade though, as he sent a dossier to Greek media highlighting that EuroLeague were perhaps favouring Olympiacos and Fenerbahce in their games.

That particular letter was also sent to EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu, who will meet with Giannakopoulos along with 11 teams that currently have 10-year contracts with the competition on April 12 in Barcelona.

The meeting is expected to discuss the matters which will be included on the agenda and those decisions will have to be ratified by the general assembly of the clubs.
